5 years after the barge crash, NKY bar and restaurant announces its comeback

A popular bar and restaurant on the Ohio River, which was destroyed by a barge, has announced that it will reopen.

The Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club wrote on Facebook on Friday, “We’re coming back, baby.” The post continued with, “It’s finally happening!!!”

The post also stated that the restaurant has begun to accept applications from people interested in working at the yacht club.

The owners of Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club announced on Facebook five years ago that they planned to return someday.

The restaurant had been open for 23 seasons before being destroyed by a barge colliding into it.

The investigation into the barge crash concluded that a person on watch fell asleep at the controls and failed to maintain control.

The towboat was pushing 15 barges loaded with sand and gravel at the time.

Part of the restaurant got dragged downriver. The rest of it sank.
